What We Shipped: April 2026 at outer/edge
April has been an incredible month for development at outer/edge. Across 19 different active projects, our team has been hard at work pushing new features, squashing bugs, and ensuring our clients' platforms are scales, secure, and ready for growth.
By the numbers, April saw:
- 608 fresh commits pushed to production-ready branches.
- 77 tasks successfully closed.
- 40 brand new features launched.
- 28 critical bugs resolved.
- 225,528 lines of clean code added to our ecosystem.
Here’s a look at some of the major feature releases and improvements we’ve delivered this month:
Powering Customer Engagement & Growth
We’ve implemented advanced engagement tools designed to keep customers coming back. This month's highlights include a robust "Notify Me" automated alert system for out-of-stock items, ensuring no lead is ever lost. We also expanded global reach for our lifestyle and sports retailers by deploying comprehensive multi-language translation modules, allowing for a seamless localised shopping experience.
Next-Gen Subscription & Automated Services
Recurring revenue is the backbone of modern e-commerce. In April, we finalised the core architecture for a new subscription-based recurring billing engine, specifically tailored for high-end leisure and service clients. This allows businesses to automate their service plans and chemical deliveries, providing customers with a "set and forget" convenience while securing long-term loyalty for the brand.
Advanced Security & Transactional Integrity
Security remains at the forefront of everything we build. This month, we rolled out Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) across several administrative backends to further harden our clients' data. On the transactional side, we've overhauled payment gateway logic to support dynamic transaction types and deeper third-party integrations, ensuring a frictionless and secure checkout experience even for complex B2B trade structures.
Performance & User Experience
From migrating media assets to Cloudflare for lightning-fast global load times to refining product configurators with enhanced UI feedback, April was all about the details that make a difference. We’ve streamlined search logic, improved caching strategies, and launched several product page redesigns that prioritise conversion and mobile usability.
Whether it's custom development or platform scaling, outer/edge continues to deliver the technical excellence our partners depend on.
