As a society we have all become more impatient, frustrated at waiting for pages to load, aghast at a lack of WiFi signal and not wanting to wait long periods for deliveries. Consumers want their products yesterday and if you can offer rapid delivery times there is a strong chance you will win their business.

According to Google there has been a 150 per cent increase in the search term "same day" over the past 12 months.

49 per cent of shoppers said that same-day delivery would motivate them to buy more online.

Countdown Timers

A countdown timer is becoming more common on e-commerce websites. Often these are used for delivery times on a product page to encourage a "want it now" mentality. Adding these timers near a call to action button like "add to basket" really encourages users to make that purchase. You can use these timers to shout about your rapid delivery times as long as they act now.

Countdown timers are also a great way to show a sale is coming to an end. If users know they only have a very limited time for an offer it has been shown to increase sales.

A countdown timer is a great way to both inform your customers about your quick delivery times and nudge them to make the purchase. More and more consumers are searching for how quickly they can get an item than the price. If you can get a product to a customer quickly it’s wise to shout about it.
